Differences in Aedes, Culex and Anopheles Mosquitoes



For the pass 2 nights i have been bitten endlessly thru out the night. I searched thru the internet and found these informations about them.


What is the difference between Aedes, Culex and Anopheles (genera of mosquitoes) morphologically?


Aedes causes yellow fever, dengue, bird malaria,encephalitis.
Hind legs held curled upward, has white markings on legs and abdomen. Head is slightly bent downwards














Anopheles
causes malaria

Hind legs held outstretched, large maxillary palp, body of Anopheles is slender and the wings have dark spots.the body rests with an angle to the surface, proboscis is line with the body.















Culex
causes filariasis, bird malaria, encephalitis, dengue

Hind legs curled up over the back, body of Culex is stout and the wings are unspotted, the body rests parallel to the surface, and proboscis in not in straight line with the body,abdominal sterna are covered with scales.
